Toy Cart

We temporarily took the wheels off the toy cart so that it wouldn't roll around too much.
..and then Matai discovered he could push it along...

Crawling

Matai has been experimenting with crawling over the last few days... Oh dear, now we will need to make the house fully baby proof.

What's new?

So, what's new?

A few things:
  • Matai has learnt to blow raspberries and he likes to do it a lot.
  • He seems to be having some kind of growth spurt (again) which means he wakes at night more times than normal. Yawn.
  • He has been getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. Crawling cannot be far away.

Dinner out

We went out for dinner at Bikanervala last night. We had a bit of a mix of things; Samosa Chaat, a Thali and a Masala dosa. Matai ate with us and even though he was a little surprised by some of flavours he seemed to enjoy the Dahl Makani with a little yoghurt. As you can see, he takes his eating very seriously, but usually once he has had enough he lightens up and starts singing to the spoon.

New favourite food

So, avocados are affordable again and Matai has found a new favourite food. The first time he tasted avocado he went a little crazy; his eyes changed, his hands were grabbing at everything, he was lunging at the spoon when it was close and crying if he couldn't reach it. By the end, I stopped trying to pry his hands off the spoon and left him to it.

Older photos of Matai

Late March: Matai would never sleep! We would swaddle him up, put him to bed and he would look like he was about to go to sleep when all of a sudden - ping - he would open his eyes and look at you like this:
