One of our favourites: two jars of anchovies in a sauce on wholemeal pasta, this time with tomatoes, avocado and large leafed basil from Napier.

Out for Dinner
We decided to see if we could go out for dinner - the three of us. We drove out to Bikanervala on White Swan Rd and had a quick meal - dahi puri, chole bhature and a masala dosa. There was some celebration going on at the restaurant and a lot of noise which seemed to put the baby to sleep. In the photo he is in his car pod covered in dot-patterned muslin.

Drifting off to M. Geddes Gendras
It was one of those days. Baby had been feeding for hours and wouldn't get settled. He was over-tired and crying. Jess had barely slept in the last couple of days and needed a break. She asked if I could look after things while she went for a walk.
So, with crying baby in one arm, I put on Ishi by M. Geddes Gendras; an hour of kaleidoscopic modular synth sounds. Almost instantly baby calmed down and started gazing into the middle distance. Within five minutes he was asleep. He stayed asleep until the music stopped, allowing Jess to go for her walk and then get some sleep as well. However, within seconds of the Ishi finishing, baby woke up and started crying. I quickly put the music back on and he instantly fell asleep again. This time I pressed "infinite repeat".

Tummy time
He has quite strong legs and when he's on the floor he tries to push himself around. Sometimes he succeeds. He can also lift up his head and take a look around.

The Heath/Whaleys are home from Birthcare
The latest photos can be seen at Jess and Ian's Mobile Cactus.
Well, all of a sudden there are three of us. On Sunday morning Jess had a "silent labour"; we didn't realise Jess was in labour until the last moment. We raced to National Women's and just made it in time for the baby to be born. Three hours from contractions starting to delivery. After a night we transferred to Birthcare in Parnell where we stayed for three nights. We have now arrived home. Mr baby still has no official name (we are working on it!) but in the mean time here are some photos...
